Olomouc (23 September 2025) - In the Olomouc Region, the residents of Držovice, Jeseník and Ruda nad Moravou are the best at sorting end-of-life electrical equipment. These are the winners of the individual categories in the traditional Ceramic Earphone competition.
Every year, the ASEKOL Compliance Scheme holds the Ceramic Earphone competition in collaboration with the Olomouc Region. This year for the seventeenth time! The competition evaluates the recovery ratio of old electrical equipment as a per capita figure.
In the Ceramic Earphone competition, the municipality of Držovice came out top in the up to 2,000 inhabitants category, having handed in almost 10 kg of WEEE per inhabitant last year. The electrical appliances handed in included computers, televisions, radios, cameras, video cameras and mobile telephones.
In the category of municipalities with over 2,000 inhabitants, the municipality of Ruda nad Moravou has defended its top-ranking position for the umpteenth time with an average recovery of almost 8 kilograms, while the winner in the category of towns with over 10,000 inhabitants was Jeseník, where each of its residents sorted an average of almost 6 kilograms of old electrical gear last year.
Hearty congratulations to everyone and we look forward to more great results in the future!
