ASEKOL introduces Zlín Film Festival visitors to e-waste recycling

This year, ASEKOL took part in the 66th Zlín Film Festival – the International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Zlín.

The festival is one of the leading cultural events of its kind and attracts more than 120,000 visitors each year. Alongside its film programme, it offers a wide range of activities for children, young people and the general public. The festival programme also included ASEKOL activities highlighting the importance of properly handling end-of-life electrical appliances.

Visitors had the chance to discover ASEKOL’s activities at the stand of our partner, ELKOPLAST. The stand also featured fun, educational activities introducing the principles of the circular economy and showing how even small changes to everyday habits can benefit the environment. Children and adults alike enjoyed learning more about what happens to appliances once they have been handed in and sorted, and why recycling them matters.

End-of-life electrical appliances contain a range of valuable materials, including iron, copper, aluminium and plastics, which can be recovered through recycling and used to manufacture new products. Professional e-waste processing helps conserve natural resources, reduces the need to extract new raw materials and supports the principles of the circular economy.

Thank you to everyone who visited our partner’s stand and took part in the activities focusing on sorting and recycling. Your interest helps us raise awareness that every electrical appliance handed in properly can be given a second life.
