In reality, however, it contains a range of materials that retain their value even after the appliance is no longer in use. Professional processing recovers iron, aluminium, copper and precious metals from electrical equipment, along with plastics, glass and many other materials.

Material recovery rates are high and vary depending on the type of product, but can reach up to 95%.
