ASEKOL, the largest compliance scheme for the take-back of electrical equipment in the Czech Republic, has announced its e-waste collection results for 2025. The year 2025 was also an exceptional one for ASEKOL as the company celebrated its 20th anniversary. Overall, 71.2 thousand tonnes of e-waste were collected and handed over to certified recyclers, representing 65.1% of the statutory quota.

Recycling such a large volume of e-waste delivers long-term and significant environmental benefits, which can be quantified through environmental accounting based on an LCA analysis. Recycling 71.2 thousand tonnes of e-waste achieved savings of more than 300 thousand tonnes of CO₂. If converted, for example, into electricity savings, this would represent 292,070 MWh - roughly the average annual electricity consumption of more than 97,000 households.

ASEKOL has long been actively involved in the circular economy and places strong emphasis on environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects of its business. The ESG agenda forms part of the company’s long-term strategy, and ASEKOL voluntarily publishes an ESG report every year. The ASEKOL compliance scheme has also been awarded a gold medal in the prestigious international EcoVadis sustainability rating, placing it amongst the top 5% of the highest-rated companies worldwide!

“In 2025, we achieved record figures in the collection of end-of-life electrical appliances and met the statutory collection quota in all categories. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all employees, clients and partners who contributed to this result. Our thanks also go to everyone who responsibly sorts their e-waste,” says Daniel Šafář, Commercial Director of ASEKOL.

ASEKOL continues to focus on expanding its network of collection points, raising public awareness and supporting the circular economy. The company’s strategy also includes supporting the employment of people with disabilities through sheltered workshops.

“With more than 17.5 thousand collection points across the country, e-waste take-back is accessible to everyone. In addition to traditional collection points such as collection yards, citizens can use over 4,000 red street containers located throughout the Czech Republic. At the same time, we organise free mobile collection from companies and households. Sorting has never been easier,” Daniel Šafář adds.
