European legislation

European law covers the handling of end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment for the European Union as a whole. Key documents currently consist of the Directives 2012/19/EU and 2012/65/EU, which were formulated in response to the need properly to regulate the handling of an ever-increasing amount of e-waste in EU countries. The objective of the directives is to unify the rules for handling e-waste so that they accord with environmental protection in all EU countries. Below, you can find links to the full wording of both directives as amended.
