Take-Back Conference

Dear Sir or Madam Just one week remains until the Take-Back Conference begins! If you have not yet registered, this is your final opportunity.

As the name indicates, the conference focuses on topics concerning take-back, its individual processes, legislative systems and the activities of its individual components – compliance schemes, state and local administration, processors, collection points, and others. Considering the ten-year anniversary of take-back in the Czech Republic, this year’s conference will be directed to evaluating what take-back has been through, but also experiences from surrounding countries and especially looking to the future. Special attention will be devoted to the system of extended producer responsibility (EPR) and its implementation in legal regulations, the jurisdictions of individual actors in the system, and thoughts about individual processes and their effectiveness. The main question which will resonate throughout the day is: “Are current rules set up to work properly and efficiently?”

Below, you will find the detailed programme of the entire conference, which will be held

19 May 2015 at the Žofín Palace in Prague.

Martin Veselovský will moderate the discussion, which, in addition to the aforementioned speakers, will include Petr Miller (Union of Purchasers and Processors of Secondary Raw Materials of the Czech Republic) and Jan Vrba (ASEKOL a.s.).

Its objective is to obtain direct answers to questions regarding the effectiveness of the take-back system and the workings of its individual components.

Main questions:

  • Are compliance schemes necessary at all?
  • Who should be responsible for the collection network?
  • Is the implemented EPR system effective?
  • Is it necessary to limit the activities of collection points?
  • What should be the roles of producers and municipalities in take-back?
  • Re-use – is it the future of take-back?

We would be happy for you to participate and contribute to the discussion with topics which interest you or which you see as having potential for improvement.

The online registration form is available here.

We look forward to your participation and to seeing you soon.
