Exemptions from the Act
Electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) exempted from the categories of EEE set out in Annex No. 7 to the Act (Annex No. 1 to Decree No. 352/2005 Coll., on the details of management of electrical and electronic equipment and waste electrical and electronic equipment)
1. Products where electrical current is not the primary source of energy, e.g. a gas burner with electrical control, except for electrical or electronic components, such as thermostat, that can be removed from the product.
2. Products where electronic components are not essential for fulfillment of their basic function, e.g. greeting cards, talking toys.
3. Equipment containing electrical and electronic parts which is a fixed component of some other unit, e.g. car radio, aircraft lighting.
4. Large stationary industrial equipment, i.e. machines or systems assembled by combination of individual pieces of equipment or systems for the purpose of their joint operation within a single unit and for a specific purpose.
5. Equipment intended exclusively for State defense which complies with the definition of EEE
6. Implanted or infected medical devices
7. Common, filament bulbs and luminaires for fluorescent lamps in households.
- management of radioactive waste falls within the scope of Act No. 18/1997 Coll., on peaceful use of nuclear energy and ionizing radiation (the Atomic Act), as amended.
