ECO-Centre
Project for shopping centres
Shopping centres throughout the Czech Republic can utilize of the advantageous offer of charge-free provision for environmental activities related to old electrical and electronic equipment (EEE).
ASEKOL is offering:
- Attractive interior or exterior containers for minor waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) according to the choice of the interested party, together with regular servicing of these containers
- An information stand on separation of waste and competitions for children
- Display cases with exhibits and information on dismantling and recycling old appliances
- Information leaflets for visitors to the centre and for households
- Active communication in relation to the media
- The right to use the EKO-Centrum label
Last year’s survey of consumer behaviour indicated that people would like to get rid of old appliances in an environmentally sound way. Shopping centres provide a unique opportunity for combining the pleasant with the useful – the owners of centres can attract customers with a new service, visitors will be glad to utilize the available containers and the collection of electrical waste will increase.
This project has already been successful in the Prague Chodov shopping centre, where six containers for minor EEE have been installed. The results are excellent: almost one tonne of EEE in the first month alone, satisfaction of the Chodov shopping centre and of visitors.

The aforementioned shopping centres have obtained the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) certificate for their responsible approach to the environment, take-back of products and separating waste, and they have been granted the EKO-CENTRUM label.
