General information
Municipalities, cities and towns in the Czech Republic are the main partners of the ASEKOL collective scheme in providing for take-back of discarded EEE. 94 % of the total weight of taken-back WEEE originates from municipal waste collection yards and mobile pick-ups. Therefore, ASEKOL offers municipalities a mutually advantageous possibility of cooperation.
The possible cooperation of collective schemes with the municipalities, cities and towns of the Czech Republic is generally based on Section 38 of the Waste Act. On the basis of the mentioned provision, by virtue of a written agreement, collective schemes may utilize the system of collection and separation of municipal waste established by the particular city, town or municipality for fulfillment of their take-back duty. In this respect, the collective scheme is obliged to accept discarded EEE originating from take-back (when using the system of collection and separation of municipal waste of the particular city, town or municipality) from the cities, towns and municipalities free of charge.
Cooperation of the ASEKOL collective scheme with the municipalities, cities and towns of the Czech Republic is based on conclusion of an agreement. This cooperation is designed for municipalities with collection yards as well as for municipalities organizing mobile pick-up of hazardous waste.
