Cooperation with municipalities operating waste collection yards
The offer of cooperation is intended for cities, towns and municipalities in the Czech Republic that operate a system of collection and separation of municipal waste also through a waste collection yard and are thus capable of designating a permanent collection site* within their jurisdiction where take-back of EEE could be implemented.
* taken-back EEE does not constitute waste within the meaning of the Waste Act; therefore, establishment of a collection site does not require a decision of the regional authority on accumulation of waste pursuant to the Act.
The cooperation takes place on the basis of an agreement.
The municipality obtains the following advantages based on the agreement
1. Reduction of the costs borne by the municipality in connection with collection, transport (pick-up) and subsequent treatment of hazardous waste within which discarded EEE is accepted from the citizens
2. Charge-free pick-up and environmentally sound treatment of collected EEE
3. Financial remuneration **
** the municipality may delegate the performance of the agreement to a third party (operator of the waste collection yard or take-back site), where the remuneration may be paid either to the municipality or directly to the third party.
The remuneration consists of two parts:
a) lump-sum remuneration – the remuneration is paid for each operated waste collection yard or collection site within the jurisdiction of the municipality where discarded EEE will be taken back
| Collection site (waste collection yard) is intended | Amount of remuneration |
|---|---|
| for depositing EEE from consumers and other persons | CZK 10,000.00 |
| for depositing EEE only from consumers | CZK 5,000.00 |
b) remuneration for take-back of EEE - the remuneration consists of the basic part and a bonus. The basic part of the remuneration is paid according to the quantity of collected EEE. A municipality is granted a bonus depending on the yield of minor EEE and NEWLY also assistance provided in loading.
| Basic part | |
|---|---|
| Type of EEE | Amount of remuneration |
| TV sets, computer monitors | CZK 3.00/item |
| Other EEE (other than TV sets and computer monitors) | CZK 0.15/kg |
Calculation of the bonus for collection of other EEE: The sum of the lump-sum fee and the basic part of the remuneration for collection of EEE is to be multiplied by the relevant coefficient.
