The "Feed the Scrapman" campaign
The entertainment and awareness-raising event entitled Feed the Scrapman strives to communicate to the citizens in an unobtrusive way that waste electrical and electronic equipment does not belong in waste bins, but it rather should be deposited at collection sites. People bring their old appliances to a designated place where a selected architect uses them to build a sculpture. For the first time, a sculpture from electrical and electronic scrap was built in September 2006 in Prague. During June and September 2007, the campaign, taking the form of a road show, visited eleven Czech and Moravian regional capitals. Various dinosaurs were created there. The event won the second prize in the competition, CZECH PRIZE FOR PUBLIC RELATIONS 2007, specifically in the Community Relations category, and it also received a special award from a foreign evaluator.
